Karibuni Kwa Afya Bora ya Baadaye

Mabadiliko ya kimazingira kama vile mabadiliko ya tabia ya nchi, yataathiri na kuumiza afya bora ya binadamu ambayo inashugulikiwa kote ulimwenguni.Watakaoathiriwa zaidi na jambo hili ni wale maskini zaidi katika jamii.Jambo ambalo limeshughulikiwa zaidi ni usambazaji na mlipuko wa magonjwa hasa katika siku za usoni, na hasa namna ubadilikaji wa usambazaji na kuzuka kwa magonjwa ya ‘vector-borne diseases’ (VBDs) yanayosababishwa na ubadilikaji katika tabia ya nchi utadhuru afya. Madhara haya yanaweza kuwa ni mlipuko wa magonjwa miongoni mwa binadamu au mlipuko wa magonjwa yanayoathiri mifugo au mimea, na hili linaweza kutisha uhifadhi wa vyakula, shughuli za kilimo na biashara.

Mradi huu wa Afya Bora ya Baadaye huwa na motisha wa kushughulikia maathiri haya. Hulenga kushugulikia jambo hili kwa kubuni utaratibu utakaowezesha kugundua magonjwa matatu yanayosababishwa na maji ‘vector-borne diseases’, yaani malaria, homa ya bonde la ufa na kichocho katika nchi za Afrika Mashariki,hasa kushughulikia namna mazingira au tabia ya nchi inavyoendelea na mabadiliko ya kijamii na kiuchumi ili kubashiri hatari ya siku zijazo.Mradi huu wa  Afya Bora ya Baadaye umepokea  ufadhili wa milioni €3.38 kupitia kwa mradi wa 7th framework programme (FP7), ambacho ni kifaa cha Muungano wa Ulaya kinachofadhili utafiti Ulaya.

The HEALTHY FUTURES Atlas compiles and provides access to key modelling results of the HEALTHY FUTURES research project for eastern Africa. Results are visualized for the three target diseases; Malaria, Schistosomiasis and Rift Valley Fever. Past, present and future risks can be explored, while having access to their underlying environmental/climatic and socio-economic drivers.
